Google Translate says it’s Japanse. I’ve seen the same sort of post on a handful of other communities today as well (oldest going back about 17 hours)

    Just a bunch of Japanese script kiddies targetting the fediverse and its network for some reason. There's active measures being taken and thankfully many instances are monitoring it pretty well.

    Saw those spam postings. From three different Mastodon servers, one instance was pretty small. Glad to hear active measures have been taken though I hope it was not simply blocking instances.

    Question : Is spam reporting on Lemmy actually best or is it better to report directly on those Mastodon instances ?
