    I remember reading a bit of the comic. It was very nice. Some of the more memorable moments was the cartoonish lengths the "parents" had to go to act like parents at times, only to actually naturally behave like parents in those moments where they take their masks off. Also the kid making the most absurd faces was peak :hahaha:

    Father daughter anime that aren't creeper shit are usually excellent, this one is combined with politics and spy shit. Very cool and looking forwards to more.

    It's hard for me to say more about it at this point, I thought the episode was pretty straightforward though which means it probably won't be as good as the last excellent spy anime we got - Princess Principal. That was a good spy anime and they really filled episodes with worthwhile details to pay attention to. If anyone is looking for a fun episodic spy show I strongly recommend that one, I expect this one will be more of a father daughter bonding show against a spy background rather than a spy show.

      they add in more central characters. it's definitely more of a comedy than a straight spy show, but there will probably be a few episodes that have some really good spy stuff going on.

    I love the manga so it's nice to see this finally adapted! The author does seem pretty liberal in that the setting is very clearly Cold War era Germany with a clear parallel to the Stasi being introduced later, but I don't recall any direct indictments of left political ideology, just the vague "evil authoritarianism" thing

      That is the indictment lmao. Much like the liberals on hexbear, the author never read theory therefore defaults to the bog standard understanding of communism from a western point of view

    Enjoyed it, will watch more. As for liberalism, unless anyone says otherwise, Twilight is surely working to establish global communism.

    The adaptation is solid, and there isn't anything in the manga (which I stopped reading a little while back, but I'm pretty sure the anime won't overtake where I left off this season) that strikes me as worse than bog standard liberalism. And even that's mostly minor and unimportant.
