Meh. I've lived in Texas my entire adult life and I've never thought to myself "So glad our state judiciary is subject to the liberal democratic process".

Dogshit Presidents and dogshit congressmen campaigning for dogshit judges don't produce results meaningfully different from these same actors simply installing apparatchiks through some arcane Senatorial ritual.

Where I live people have been really good about wearing masks on public transit since the beginning of the pandemic.

Trump appointed judge, get ready to hear that about every bad thing that happens for the next couple decades. Dems really botched everything before during and after Obama's term

and all the "anti" but actually pro covid subs are cheering and celebrating because "I got my 3 shots, Ive done my part!!!" as if a viral pandemic gives a fuck that you took 15 mins collectively out of your day to get shots and now youre acting like you served in 3 tours of duty.

Presumable upside to this ruling: You can now wear elastomeric respirators (even ones with valves) while they were previously illegal under the mask policy. So it's now possible to personally be 100% safe on planes as long as you don't mind the stares, or not eating and drinking for the duration.

Well it's gonna be interesting to see the country pass 2 million dead by the end of the year...

We're running into an upper bound on how many unvaccinated/uninfected people are left to keep the pain train rolling. I don't think we're going to see another big wave until we get a significant variant. Even then, it probably won't pick up again until next fall, when school is back in session and we're all trapped indoors cheek-to-cheek thanks to another state-demolishing hurricane.

At the current rate of around 500 deaths a day, it'll take five or six more years to crest the 2M mark.

Thing is we are coming close to summer with all the chuds everywhere about to go hog wild and spread spit all over, I also feel libs will also join in since brunch is back on the menu since good old boy Biden told them so. Given all that and how low the boosters were, the dropping immunity from the initial shots as well as how unequally distributed vaccination rates have been and we could see flare ups that could propagate a new strain within a couple months by the end of summer leading into fall.

Maybe. Or maybe we've had enough people vaccinated plus enough other people infected plus a high enough initial mortality rate that the R of transmission can't easily break north of 2 easily anymore.

Only one way to find out, and Americans are going to roll the dice whether or not its prudent.

Yes, yes, the US is dogshit. but what about freedom to die of 'respiratory issues' due to 'poor health choices' while repeating Jack Poseidon's Grooming Techniques ad nauseum at (not 'to', a difference) teenagers inside Six Flags Magic Mountain? or whatever the fuck US chuds are doing rn...
