      There was a glitch in the original Civilization where his pacifism trait would frequently cause his aggression to go "negative" but the algorithm didn't really have a solution for that so it would loop back around to maximum. Gandhi would often hit a point where he would just flip from being totally pacifist to immediately building nukes and using them very liberally to expand defend* watching the video and I'm now reminded that he would only nuke if he was attacked and his pacifism often led to him getting wiped out too early for nukes, but if you left him alone and then went conquering in the late game with him still on the map at which point he would nuke you.

            Yup, and it's also wrong. The overflow bug which supposedly causes Gandhi to be absurdly aggressive and nuke people just never existed. Gandhi was the least likely to go around nuking people, but it's a dumb lib game made by dumb libs so everyone will go around nuking people given the time. It's just the most surprising / memorable when Gandhi does it.

            The creator of the youtube video you linked actually acknowledges this in their pinned comment lol

              That's funny I didn't even look at the comments since I tend to avoid youtube comments at all costs especially on anything political. I, like the video author, will leave my comment unaltered because I too think it's an intriguing bit of internet lore.

      i think a relatively normal human, when their brain breaks online and people start yelling at them, will inevitably heed the call of the void and just start acting as obnoxious as possible to feel like they have some control over the situation
