Love this same shit even more when I'm calling my doctor or w/e :agony-yehaw:
So many "pleasantries" are super gendered. It is annoying when you're in customer service because if you misgender, you feel bad. But, some customers get super offended if you don't use sir/ma'am. I've had Karen complain because I was "rude" to a completely different person because I didn't act obsequious enough. I tend to try to default to "my friend", but that isn't " formal" enough for Karen and her posse...
one of the reasons my pronouns here are "any" is because it's honestly just easier than correcting people for me. at this point, I just go with whatever. I get misgendered like 95% of the time on the phone. maybe more. and the irony is that I'm cis.
But yeah, if customer service didn't have to call me "sir/ma'am", we wouldn't run into this in the first place. when we're talking to each other, you shouldn't even need my pronouns! "you" is a gender neutral pronoun. and you have my name too!
i agree, you should refer to everyone as comrade
would be at least funny as fuck when a karen shows up
I’m a cis-het man with a mustache and I get called ma’am all the time. I agree, that shit Is frustrating.
dont worry you gonna love when you get to that level where everyone sexually harrasses you in voice chats online
we really get the worst of everything :yea:
Sorry you've gotta deal with that, casual transphobia is exhausting.
