yeah, it's been unexpectedly based, I've seen a bunch of anti-fascist graffiti pop up here and there, and it seems like the antagonists are eventually going to end up being Space-NATO (although for now I've mostly shot cops, and I'm not entirely clear on the relation between the North American Union and NATO)

also, the world here has been absolutely devastated by climate change - there's PSA announcements saying "if the Sun's out, remember to only go out with your biohazard suit and not look directly at it!", there's massive swamps of toxis sludge, and regular acid rains, it's absolutely fucked
