This is what reactionary actually means btw. The actual definition. It's a self-destructive clamping down on the inevitable shifts of civilisations.

These people genuinely have no clue that the world has moved on and that publicly educated populace is now intrinsic to having a functioning society, even a capitalist one. It is the proverbial toothpaste outside the tube; it's not going back.

At this point in time, to destroy public education is to destroy your civilisation, and I have no clue what the end goal of people who want it is other than "longing for an era that never existed" idealism.

The end goal is very immediate power and money without specific regard to what happens afterwards.

ah but if the American workforce becomes largely illiterate due to caste based education then the parts of the economy that depend on people following instructions/and or working with computers will be in trouble.

America might soon learn why communist states put so much focus on literacy

Honestly the irony is that if we reduce shit to peasentry quick enough, we may live long enough to see some sort of Maoist insurrection. These people don't get that education is the best form of propoganda, and the more 'educated' someone is the harder it is to convince them of basic truths like LTV. Literally cutting off their nose to spite thier face.

yeah the chuds are morons and think public schools teach "liberal Marxist indoctrination" or whatever which is probably why they think they are a threat. But in reality they just teach normal liberalism that justifies the American empire and spins it's flaws into positives (plus a few useful skills). That system has been clutch for the American empire for a long time, through colonialism and the cold war. Now the chuds want to destroy it because Facebook told them there they is furry naptime and gay porn constantly screening at schools.

But if they decide to ban public schools I'm just gonna open my own people's schools (like the CCP did in China) and I'll show those chuds what REAL Marxist indoctrination looks like. My students will be quoting Lenin within the week.

I typed up a post about not needing schools because kids could just learn from experience at their local factory and then i remembered that America doesn’t have factories anymore

i literally joked about this with my spouse last night i said "these shootings always happen at public schools, never where the rich kids go. so they'll use it as a justification to privatize more."

I mean public schooling does seem kinda commie now that you mention it.

Though our school systems are currently being co-opted for fascist propaganda for capital's and nationalism's sakes

IIRC our public school system was modeled after the Prussian one designed to create an obedient workforce that knows just enough to be useful to the state, it's not so much been coopted as adapted to the times

Which isn't to say the concept of public schooling is bad, just that, like most of its institutions, America's version is rotten to the core and needs to be scrapped and rebuilt

looking forward to when schools don't even have budgets anymore and need to send their child soldier militias out to pillage books and pencils from rival schools

The little I saw from the account seemed to indicate they were on board with that; on brief glance, I saw stuff about cops being worthless, about Kent State being wrong, and about how Waco was also completely unjustified

And stuff about vaccines being bad, the GOP not making govt small enough, and talking about how econ courses better educate you

        They are full fledged lolbertarian
