Does the rugby ban also allow for trans men to compete with women like the swimming ban does?

FINA doesn’t actually care about any effects testosterone has on a body. Cis women and trans men are allowed to compete after a time-out from taking T. But not trans women.

Athletes who have previously used testosterone as part of female- to-male gender-affirming hormone treatment (with or without a TUE) but are no longer following that treatment are eligible to compete in the women’s category in FINA competitions and to set FINA World Records in the women’s category in FINA competitions and in other events recognised by FINA

Female athletes who have used testosterone in violation of the World Anti-Doping Code or FINA DCR (or any other applicable anti- doping rules) may return to competition after they have served their period of ineligibility. (2-4 years)

Hypothetically, a cis woman could juice up from 11, experience T puberty, train for years, back off a bit and still be eligible to compete and set records.
Meanwhile a trans woman starting suppression at 12 is banned forever without even a 4 year option.

    Pure, unscientific discrimination.

    Under a Labor government too.

Throwing trans people under the bus and then they're going to wonder why the left will abandon them.

FINA's new rules say transgender women are eligible to compete in women's competitions only if "they can establish to FINA's comfortable satisfaction that they have not experienced any part of male puberty beyond Tanner Stage 2 [of puberty] or before age 12, whichever is later".

Oh good this means they'll advocate for trans kids to have easier access to puberty blockers and HRT, right?

      right??

They can't even wait for a trans woman to dominate a sport before doing this, which would've already happened if it was so easy. There hasn't even been a trans-woman version of Usain Bolt yet.

Also how are you supposed to get data/research if you're closing that door.

How about the time a cis woman dominated men’s wrestling in 2020?
Inconvenient data never gets brought up.

      https://www.theguardian.com/sport/2020/feb/27/female-wrestler-wins-state-title-high-school-heaven-fitch

While competing against boys, Heaven Fitch became the first female wrestler to win an individual wrestling state championship in North Carolina.

She had a 54-4 record for the season and won most outstanding wrestler in her division. “I’m just really overwhelmed ... It’s like insane what I’ve done, it’s not fully sunken in yet,” she told WRAL-TV.

Fitch won an eight-person competition that included seven male wrestlers, said James Alverson, assistant commissioner for the high school association. Last year she became the first female wrestler to place, coming in fourth in her division.

Fitch became interested in wrestling after watching her older brothers competing, and fought against them when she was younger. She said at first she had to convince her parents to let her wrestle. “I nagged my parents, basically, because I wanted to do what [my brothers] did,” Fitch told the Independent Tribune in 2018. “They didn’t want me to wrestle. I’m pretty sure it was because they didn’t want me to get hurt. But I would just be like, ‘Well, if they can do it, then I should be able to do it.’”

On Saturday, her perseverance paid off. “I just wrestled my best, and I kind of dominated the match, if I’m being honest,” Fitch told WTVD.

let people do what they want with their bodies

i broke my collarbone playing rugby about 3 months ago, and once I’m healed up, I’m gonna go play it again. It’s fun. It makes me feel good. Everyone who gets hurt playing it knew the risks beforehand and partook regardless.
