I really have no satisfactory words for this.

I have no excuses for the terror, just excuses for the lack of terror.

Having only liberals as "opposition" for several generations has made the forces of evil rather cocky.

this is why I was dreading this moment. The worst people I know feel winning today and that just makes me 🤮. I don't have ovaries, I'm not gay or black, so this is the part that hits me viscerally. Reminds me of Firefly: "might've been the losing side. Still not convinced it was the wrong side". For the next 50 years the inside of my head is going to sound like "we're right. we're right. we're right. we're right. we're right. we're right" as the world continues doing whatever the fuck it wants.

I think this is pretty yeesh on its own. Blaming your loss on corruption instead of "people voted for the other guy" isn't any better than blaming coastal elites

Because coastal elites don't exist :good-morning:

This almost certainly has a secondary motive. Whether it’s a genuine fear of people “stopping by” (I wish), or an empty chess piece to corral people toward, I dunno. Could even be a third thing.

But with all the mobilized cops at various places, including snipers at the supreme court, I don’t think “evacuating a building” and calling it a celebration is entirely convincing lol
