How about that Nepomniachtchi huh? Killing it. I hope Fabi catches up. Also I was hoping Rapport would do better not that he's crashing and burning but ya know. Mostly I like his suits.

Also lol what at Karjaken getting the Boot for saying he likes Russia in Russia vs Ukraine.

Chess is cool. I mean fide and such isn't of course but oh well.

Talk to me about this board game I'm overly obse with please. If you want.

My kind of chess player. I like to yell "holy bolt!" when moving the bishop.

The fact the horsey moves in a L was a stroke of genius by the chess game designers.

Yes I am watching since the start, chess is one of the few things worthwhile on Twitch.

Nothing against Nepo but I don't think he has a chance against Magnus we need someone else. I was hoping Ding would be better giving his rating and past performances, he definitely should be doing better but it is unlikely he is going to win now.

Fabiano seems the best strongest out of everyone else and given the previous match against Magnus he is probably the second best alternative to Nepo, but he seems to be making some odd mistakes evaluating his position. If this was 9 games against Magnus he would have lost 2 or 3 already.

I don't think Magnus will play against Nepo, I give it 50/50, I think he will play against anyone else.

But chess doesn't realy depend that much on long term tendencies like say football(long term squad building, investment, sponsors, relegation/promotion), whatever happens with the match against Magnus the world goes on, everyone will be there next tournament.

I was definitely fingers crossed for Ding. I feel like he's genuinely one of the best but his time in under COVID has kept him from playing as many people as he needs to really get the experience he needs.

As far as Fabiano goes he's obviously also such a strong player. I think in a 1:1 mat h with nepo for instance he'd win. But definitely getting in his own head here at this tournament. Like he had a strong looking position today vs Nepo but missed it. Now I think the move he needed to find there was weird so I can't blame him so to speak but I guess that's what you gotta find if you're gonna be the best.

I really don't know about Magnus playing people. I feel like the last cycle or two he's said simil like ohh maybe I won't defend. I definitely think Nepo is the person he'll be least inter in defending against tho.

Was hoping Ding could come back but that loss today was rough. Still can hopefully make 2nd place, since Nepo winning means Magnus will probably resign the title

Same. After Caruana collapsed Ding was who I was rooting for. Hey it's still possible. Nepo loses his next two. Ding wins the next two. Then in tie breaks ding wins.

      This will definitely happen.
