In a heteronormative society being anything except cis-straight will affect your material conditions. That includes cis gay people, even the ones who are still closeted and trying to pass as straight. I'm gay and I don't think a cis white person whose sexuality is an understated part of their public identity faces the same repression as a trans/black person who has to cross the street every damn day. I'don't mean to say fuck cis gay people and their experiences don't matter.
