Drink some of your soda immediately and create a gap of air between them, that'll limit the heating (probably, I'm not an engineer). I don't think the gap between the straw and hole is wide enough for a lot of grease to go through, and again, won't be a problem once you've eaten some of the food.

Just get unsweetened iced tea without any ice instead of coke and you don't have to care about the tea heating up
