Watching those reality shows where those cleaning companies go into homes of super depressed folks and peel back the years of neglect really brings things into perspective. There's one show where the cleaners are genuinely empathetic.
It also made me more aware of when I'm getting more depressed and begin to overlook small messes. As silly as it sounds, that show gave me a little extra self care to identify "yeah I feel like shit, but it wont get any better by being a dirty little guy, let me throw that out".
