It's basically just a drink to myself. I don't mourn any life before children, but please, stop reaching into my cup and pulling ice out or getting little floaty bits of food in my water.

Haha! Not sure if I could do it. It's gotten to point that I almost exclusively drink coffee and beer, but my weekly glass of water is never safe.

My 4yo asked me last week why I mostly drink coffee abd beer. You know why. We're not alone.

Even here, I've seen people discussing certain groups of parents only drinking coffee and beer, acting as if some liberal great self pushed them in this direction. Only through a material analysis can we see this is a result of children sharing beverages with parents. :zizek-preference:

I also drink predominantly coffee and beer - but hadn't really thought about why. When I drink water it's not enjoyed - just poured and drank immediately.

This explanation is resonating with me.

I knew an older guy who was a maintenance man for a building and he always walked around with a sippy cup full of wine. It was pretty genius.

My restroom habits have changed so much since I've had kids. I used to never use any public restroom, just not what I did. Now I've been in every public restroom in the county, they always have to go.

These kids are near feral and piss outside as often as indoors, so I'm also constantly telling them not to pee in the grass at the playground. Good kids, though.
