Hearts of Iron looks like such a fun and interesting game that I cannot for the life of me understand how to play, and if you don’t understand what’s going on there are fundamental things you can’t do
At least in Civ while I don’t know exactly what everything is gonna do there’s a lot you can just let handle itself in the background or ignore completely and you’ll probably be mostly fine
Maybe try Stellaris or Crusader Kings 3 then if you want a grand strategy game. I found those more approachable for beginners than Hearts of Iron 4 (I assume you played 4 because the older ones are brutal).

I have been meaning to try Stellaris, maybe I’ll give that a try!
And yeah it was 4, I was specifically trying it to play Kaiserreich but couldn’t even figure out the normal game
