AOC's timing was a lot like Obama's but didn't have as big of an impact. She appeared during the Trump years when Trump reply guys were booming and she did exactly that with every Republican politician. Her being a left-wing woman of color also helped and like Obama, people saw it as "the face of the future Democratic Party" or something like that.
