yeah because everyone uses Discord as a replacement for web sites even though it's a terrible format for storing and searching information
This is me but it's because discord is probably one of the worst attention devouring app out there and in general i avoid it like plague, any rooms that aren't set to where you can send one message per one or five minutes are basically unfollowable if you step away from your phone for ten minutes and completely useless as a forum, bring back MyBB.
It really sort of depends on the size of the community. The one I'm in that's just me and my friends has about 30 people in it, and the rate of posting is quite comfortable outside of the odd 5000 word rant
discord is dogshit. please never organize anything there if you can avoid it, don't give them free network effect

yep. years of collective wasted effort are poured into the blackhole each day. even reddit is better, at least it gets scraped by search engines

<20 member Discord: mute the bot channels, otherwise keep it real.
Anything else: mute that garbage
I am pretty anal about notifications honestly. Always keep my inboxes clean. I also am only in 1 active small server so it's not too hard to keep up with it.

I've had discord for ages nkw and I still don't understand what it's for apart from vc. The channels are fn spamfests and the emotes are paywalled
That's me. I hate discord, but it's literally the only way that I can communicate with some people, and do hobby stuff. So I just have it set up so that only @mentions will rouse me.
not a smart idea, if the server gets nuked you could possibly get banned.
Becos if i want to follow cool project i have to join a whole ass discord to get any updates on what's happening. I miss people just setting up a website for shit
