Probably a paradoxical effect. Most drugs can, rarely, just have the opposite effect. Some people will have a drug 'usually' give them a paradoxical reaction (sounds like you with caffeine), and sometimes bodies are weird and just decide to react opposite today. Seems to be a bit more frequent in children. Overall, a pretty weird and poorly understood bit of pharmacology
