Imagine having all that power and wealth, having the technology to shape the world at your command. Yet, the kind of world you create is this.

this

They have no creativity, no flare. Like, bro, you could probably use your money to fund bringing dinosaurs back to life or some shit, but instead, you make VR chat but without legs.

Boring.

Even the clothes they wear are boring. Motherfucker you could invent new styles. The possibilities are endless- oh he's wearing a generic business suit.

Oh, he changed into a grey turtleneck. Daring today.

And don't get me started on the houses that rich people design. Oh, look, another white box with a lot of glass wall windows. Oooooo. YOU HAVE MILLIONS OF DOLLARS, BUILD A VOLCANO LAIR YOU LOSER.

The cars they design suck too. Imagine spending hundreds of thousands to millions on a car that's barely any different from a cheap car. At least make it fart fire or some shit.

All this fetishizing of individuality and private property and they SUCK at making the most of it.

I dunno man, if you're going to destroy the world with your greed, at least be a compelling villain.

Maybe that's why Trump was so popular, he was an awful human being but at least he was funny sometimes.

The rich and powerful are unimaginative and stale. What a waste of money and power.

:my-hero: once tweeted his vision for the future on his fantastical Mars colony: a picture of a many-laned car highway. On Mars. :grillman:

I've said it before and I'll say it again:

It is a crime against humanity that Elon Musk singlehandedly gentrified both science and futurism. The TWO places where this boring adherence to convention shouldn't dominate, but somehow Musk did it.

Pretty much every :reddit-logo: "futurologist" in good standing on that site has a remarkably unimaginative and dull vision of the fantastical future. It's just their stale conservative liberal values but with fantasies of superpowers, immortality, and new conquests.

"Transhumanists" that are terrified of trans people have astounding :brainworms: . They want to become pure energy or magic colonies of nanomachines but trans people existing is "unnatural" to them. :frothingfash:

:reddit-logo: debate bros cry "ummm acktually that's a logical fallacy" but are the first to do an appeal to nature and anthropomorphize it as having some kind of pro-fash goal
