      How? They're a former colonial force and they're a tax haven, of course they have money for this shit. They're just not completely 100% deranged by individualist ideology like the US, just like 90%.

        I mean it's mostly they have some of the better infrastructure projects in the west. Everyone else enjoys watching everything fall apart

    This would never happen in Amerikkka. I know people are trying to turn the LA river into a river again, instead of the huge dry concrete canal it is currently. I think they've managed to re-river about 1% of it within Los Angeles.

    Removing a highway to put in a river/canal is unthinkable here.
