There are a lot of inside jokes and it can take a while to calibrate one’s Poe’s Law-dar.
I always thought the "dirtbag" in "dirtbag leftist" referred more to the use of slurs and bigoted/ablesist/etc language and less about the aggressiveness in their comments.
