India on Wednesday banned the popular Chinese mobile gaming app PUBG Mobile and 117 other mobile apps having Chinese links citing security reasons. The government issued a statement on banning a total of 118 apps saying the apps are prejudicial to sovereignty and integrity of India, defence of India, the security of the state and public order. So far in 2020, India has banned a total of 224 apps having China links.

Do you reckon Modi is on about standard hellworld data mining style dossier/modeling/prediction building, or is there something even more sinister here?

Also I'm not sure for myself I can do vidya gaming without submitting to some form of stealth authoritarianism like this. any safety/security tips welcome

    Privacy while gaming? Fam every single game has language in their terms that unequivocally allows them to search your computer.

    I wouldn't worry about it. You should have a normie life, and look into VPNs and Tails OS for the decidedly non-normie content.
