Yeah, the "they were bullied" narrative for school shooters is bs. Normal people respond to that situation with wanting to kill themselves not kill others.
I remember when the school shooting stuff first started happening there was a lot of rhetoric about like "sit with the weird kid at school, be nice to them" and this one girl I knew would brag about doing so lmao.
Oh it's still a thing as of less than a decade ago and it's still fucking bullshit. When people you never talked to before start being all friendly "hey, how you doing, how's everything been going for you" to you in the week after a school shooting was in the news and only the week after, that doesn't help a depressed fuckup teenager. I speak from experience. The idea that everyone sees you as a potential threat and danger is damaging to the mental state or at least sure doesn't help.
I feel like that kind of fake patronizing niceness only reinforced the fact that people think your some kind of weirdo or freak. People need to genuinely give people a chance, not just fake niceness
