    I have not read the book but looked up the passage out of curiousity. The character is referring to the last time he saw her, which was more than ten years previous; she is 29 when mentioned. So married at 30-something and 19, or before. She is introduced with a description of her breasts, so not to disagree that the author is a strange 70s polish pervert. But it doesn't seem to be exactly as you say.

    In Crime and Punishment, iirc, the main character kills an old woman. That was so mean and really I don't think people aughta do that. I stopped reading after that. Killing old ladies is wrong in any context and this obsession the author has with it is really revealing
