I'm beyond confused as to how that would possibly work at a technical level, and not have happened before.
Maybe they pushed some kind of fucked update or.... I don't know, it seems like the most simple thing in the world to have device IDs (or presumably account IDs) tied to automobile IDs and check that. It is Tesla so absolutely not impossible, but maybe this is some kind of FUD by short sellers?
