is there an equivalent of the youtube algorithm serving you unrequested rightist video "essays" but for this kind of thing? I think I might have listened to half of one dungeon synth song once several months ago and my front page always has five different german barbariansynth/paladin ambient albums from 2021 as well as a couple of what i assume are post-vaporwave records with vaguely fashy pictures and google-translated japanese titles

Hmmmm not sure. When I look up dungeon synth, at first glance, I get more dungeon synth, some Brian Eno, Alan Watts videos, and then recommendations for other stuff I usually watch like video essays on anime. I assume the algorithm is just recommending more dungeon synth but not specifically anything fash, unless it’s all fash and I don’t realize it.

Some choices are weighted more heavily than others. I click one leftist video and it recommends me another. I click one bronie video and it recommends me five. I dunno if this is more about consumer preference or marketing value but either way. There si a stickiness quotient that varies
