tfw when no sikh temple in country :sadness:
seems like such an aspirational religion
Ages ago I volunteered in the kitchen at GLIDE Memorial church over in san francisco, that gives out around 2,000 meals a day to whoever comes. I couldn't imagine an operation this large.
the only time ive ever met a sikh he was a truck driver from canada. he was so surprised that some rando in the deep south knew what a sikh was (and how to identify one i guess) lol
A lot of religions do. Or at least say you need to.
Even Catholicism used to have a third of the year as feast days with an obligation to feed the poor, in addition to Sundays. The counter-reformation put an end to that.
I remember when Joel Osteen's obscenely rich Lakewood Church refused to accept Hurricane Harvey evacuees seeking shelter after their homes flooded. The local mosques happily took everyone in and kept them safe and fed. He eventually opened his church up to victims after well-deserved social media backlash.
in country
The same size operation would feed [redacted] percent of your country, lol
