The <insert word> title is kinda annoying as a trend ngl. Just make it one word or a few worlds. Imagine if Lord of the Rings were called "The Ring"? It would probably be a lot scarier with way more wet hair.

the virgin American "The <word>" minimalist title vs the chad Japanese "Let me just give you the entire plot summary in a giant run-on sentence so you know exactly what you're getting yourself in"

I too love "quiet man who delivers newspapers before dawn and never sees anyone and then his uncle dies and he inherits a small Ramen shop and learns the joy of socializing and cooking for others"

        Such a heartwarming flick.

To be fair titles like: "That time was run over by a car and woke up with an underage harem" are obnoxious as hell too

That one time John Brown became quite certain that the crimes of a guilty land will never be purged away, but with blood. :JB-shining-aggro:

The Saw franchise was a mistake.

Seriously though - the "short as possible" trend is crazy. About 30 minutes after I started this thread - I saw the horror movie title Clock. For movie stuff - I'm going to have to google because however ridiculous I think my joke is - show business reality could trump it. Now I can't make a bad joke in a megathread like "I'm looking forward to the movie Clock which is a horror movie about a clock. Other stuff happens - I think. Maybe? But the clock itself is the main arc."

I wonder if Table is still kosher for a joke. Does a movie with that title exist? Ninja edit: According to Imdb I still have a chance to make a joke. So far.

I wonder how many possibly good shows I skipped over because of lazy and unimaginative cover images, pretentiously short titles, and other failures of imagination and creativity to chase trends long after they've worn out their welcome.

Maybe not that many, after all. I have tried some of those aforementioned shows on a blind view but when there's :awooga: :libertarian-alert: :hypersus: for generic "maturity" and/or "historical accuracy" and/or predictable "shock value" within the first few minutes, I'm already out.

Lmao, now I am imaging a film where it's narrated by a melancholy table like "Johnny Get Your Gun" but it's like "they won't even cover me with a cloth. My wood grain is exposed." "The microwaved soup bowl scalds me, why don't they let it cool on the counter, he is an asshole who deserves it! He is always bragging about having a sink. Why wasn't I built with a sink. I'd drown myself in it."
