So post capitalism, the land is controlled by a dictatorship of the proletariat using dialectical materialism for the common good, or it's ruled by indigenous tribes. Why would we want the tribes? I'm probably misunderstanding some basic definitions here.

    These so-called "tribes" are actually indigenous nations that have their own identities and practices. Both Vietnam and China had to fight wars against colonialist forces before their revolutions. This was a necessary step in their communist development. Decolonization will be a different process in the United States (and other settler-colonial countries) because the colonizers have been here for so long, but the movements for sovereignty have already begun. Native peoples have been fighting this entire time and have already achieved some results, including hunting and fishing rights finally being honored from the "treaties" made in the 1800s.
