There's a lot of ruin in a country. It can burn for a long time before the load-bearing members start cracking. Venezuela took 15 years for the wheels to fall off. America is orders of magnitude larger and stronger. But we're going a lot faster than they ever did.
I say 5 because while history doesn't repeat exactly, it rhymes like Eminem.
Right now, I see the US as in the beginning of the Bleeding Kansas period. It took about 7 years from that period to get to civil war. I'm expecting 5 years. And as you said, we're going a lot faster. Faster than even past US history.
So, 5 years. Maybe even 3 years, since the 2024 US election will be a big turning point.
