so i do think maybe that's a point, but i'd counter by pointing out that most of that toxicity that they will be subjected to (beyond Le WoMeN beAt tHe mEN's team coomplaints that will inevitably arise) will come from the normal online matchmaking service that already is not doing any sort of gendered separation. gamers are fucking toxic, i'm just not sure that beyond having women's teams (which i think is great, i just don't see why they should be pushed into their own league) there's much that can be directly done to protect them.

Yeah...I'm honestly using devil's advocate in a very non internet debate bro way. I do kinda think everyone in esports should just play together but also I can see the benefits of a more positive space. I love playing fighting games competitively but man there are some toxic as fuck spaces.

for sure, so at the end of the day, women should have the interaction with the sport that they want and think is best. i can't say what would actually be that. i just object to the notion that there must be women's esport leagues for some reason because the normal justification for that given by athletic sports is a notion of roughly bimodal human sexual characteristics (which is laughable anyway, but y'know)
