Looks like a stylistic choice. Literally nobody else writes their I's in that way, so it's signature to this artist
The part I can relate to is guessing a trans guy to be a teenager only to find out he's actually in his 30s. This has happened to me more than once.
T is some sort of fountain of youth, I absolutely can't get rid of my beard or I'll get mistaken for like 12 and I'm in my 30s.

When this happens, they just refuse to acknowledge that the person exists. He just starts fading away Back to the Future style the more they realize he doesn't fit into their narrative.
