Every time we chat, and the discussion turns towards capitalism, she’s the one who without any hesitation just says we should kill them all. Now, though, it’s gone further to torture. And she names names. In addition to people like Bezos and Musk, she includes Ben Shapiro, Andrew Tate and others.
I say we should force them to work and maybe learn the error of their ways (After the revolution of course. During it many of these fucks will die and I’ll be glad).
Her current jobs is extremely horrible. She’s being massively overworked, verbally abused and, of course, underpaid. So I get her frustration. But it’s also scary. I don’t want her to get in any trouble.
I don’t know if I should be gently turning her away from imagining a slow and painful torture of capitalists or not. Am I being a lib or is she too extreme?
The posts in this thread celebrating bloodlust are why my girlfriend (who is a committed leftist to be clear) thinks I should really fuck off from this community as soon as possible. The only thing keeping me from doing so is seeing SOME of you have rational takes on the situation (thank you @Frank ). But yeah, the "leftism is when you have extreme bloodlust" set are really putting me off of the whole thing. I'm genuinely scared to fight a revolution alongside people who think that way.
Also to everyone who's going to call me a lib for this, liberalism is not when you dont celebrate and revel in violence. If anything the violence obsession is leftism as aesthetics shit, which is liberalism. I recognize the necessity of violence in revolution, I dont celebrate it or revel in it. Killing should be done pragmatically to protect the revolution, not for pure retribution.
Having some rage-based fantasies about killing your oppressors is somewhat understandable and I've been guilty of it in the past. I understand the catharsis angle. But this reactive edgelord violence obsession shit is just not it. As my girlfriend says, real committed leftists don't talk about murder all the time.

Using Engel's words here as an excuse for bloodlust, when he literally did not say the words "we should revel in and want to do violence to our enemies" anywhere in this statement, is gross to me. Nowhere in my statement did I say we shouldnt do violence at all, in fact in what I quoted from myself I specifically said otherwise.
