To be fair, those are the rumours that are circulating because le CPC and USSR == fascism and muslim genocide is an irrefutable fact to the new redditor waves, and I believe they're calling out the popular FediTips account who has beef with them and repeatedly urged people to use another software instead.
Since the operator and developer of lemmy has very problematic politics (defending genocide and homophobia for example), and is demonstrably incredibly hostile to non-authoritarians, giving him permanent access to your data (even if you delete your account) is a very bad idea.

I know it's the Fediverse and we can all connect to each other and blah blah blah
But I really hate that kbin exists. Would rather people just join and improve Lemmy, even if on liberal instances
