I read about this ages ago, but I've never forgotten the story of the hatch being launched back from the bathysphere with the force of a cannon. Absolute miracle no one was killed when this happened, honestly.
Did a good one on the Byford Dolphin explosive decompression. 5 people died and the quickest one was a guy being pushed through a crack in a door like a playdough machine by the decompressionO_O
Dying of the ultra-bends has to be one of the worst possible ways to go (among relatively quick deaths, anyway)
shiznit this is utterly horrifying and like something out of a really, really bad nightmare. It surprises me not that that so many people are very, very traumatic over this whole tragedy.
