I can 100% envision myself going out drinking with a bunch of people and having a great time all night and then realizing at like 3am on the way to taco bell that they weren't actually clever political satirists committed to the bit.
I don't think it's satire, there are tons of people who literally have an unconscious disgust response at the concept of sharing a wall with a neighbor.
