    So I'm assuming no one has the courage or cohesion to debt strike

      They can garnish your wages. The only way a debt strike would work is as part of a general strike, and there is currently no left capable of making that happen in this country.

        It's possible it could work if enough people did it. The courts would get gummed up quickly with thousands if not millions of cases and appeals and loan servicers wouldn't be able to operate forever with no revenue. We're nowhere near organized enough to make it happen though.

      Not now. Maybe if this happened ten years ago.

      But now millenials all have kids and cars and credit scores. They're not going to risk having their family's income and credit dashed in the hopes that maybe enough people they don't know or care about will join them in possibly forcing some unspecified change that the government and employers will then fight every step of the way

        Yeah. I was about to not pay for my loans, but then I remembered my car is acting weird lately so I'm wondering if I'll need a new car which a credit score would effect. This whole thing feels hopeless.

            And you have to get a credit card and use it to be able to do any of this. Debt is insane.
