    The screenshot in a vacuum seems problematic, but yeah… these are indeed “zombies.” I don’t care for Dead Island so I don’t know what the plot is so maybe the allegory towards marginalized people are very on the nose and I’m wrong.

    What’s more problematic is that I’ve seen this screenshot used in the thumbnail for a video showcasing the gore with the title “When developers don’t care about PTSD” when in fact, they very much do.

    The Mortal Kombat devs were required to view real gore as reference for their work, and just the process of animating gore was traumatic apparently. Me, personally, I don’t know why you’d voluntarily work for a company whose known for absurd gore if you can’t handle animating it, but viewing real gore as part of work is unacceptable. And gamers want to whitewash this fact so they can go viral on YouTube.

    Also, check out this redditor trying to debunk the PTSD story with no facts, no logic, just conjecture.

        Animation jobs at game studios isn’t exactly the same thing as an Amazon warehouse. Creative jobs have more flexibility in terms of where you can work
