A bill that would allow police in France to spy on suspects by remotely activating cameras, microphone including GPS of their phones has been passed.

    Even with the main battery removed it is logging location data. Wouldn't be surprised if there are methods of using them as a passive bug like the soviets did with that "gift" to the US embassy. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Thing_(listening_device)

      Would a faraday bag work for that sort of thing? I don't think it would be able to know its location if it's in one of those.
