I was pretty suspicious of that as well, but I don't think they're good guys in the show. If I remember properly, the guy ordering MM around is only concerned about the exploding-head lady because she can easily kill anyone that goes against her, without anyone knowing it's her.
Honestly it's bad writing when her power is basically controlling blood, she could kill people by giving them an aneurism / heart attack and no ome would even suspect a thing

Or, to make it funner, maybe there's a reason she can't just give people like that, like due to limitations or something idk.
Hell she could even just give people really bad hypertension and kill them slowly.
