i got into parenti because of choking victim when i was 15, that was almost 20 years ago. it's hilarious that this dude was like buds with bernie sanders, who just got fucked by the establishment. parenti disowned him after his vote for war, and morality wise rightfully so.

I saw a recent photo of him on twitter last year, unfortunately I can't seem to find it again. I also heard that he's had some health issues recently which might explain his absence.

I've learned a lot from Parenti's lectures and it definitely played a role in my radicalization. He provided me with a framework of how imperialism, the military industrial complex, and mass media all function together. Blackshirts and Reds was a phenomenal and easily digestible read as well. Recently listened to one of my esoteric podcasters talk about ‘conspiracy as breathing together, co-inspiration’ and then went on to say that socialism is a (correct) conspiracy theory. The rest of the pod was just a Parenti lecture from ‘94, it was great.
