    I've had the misfortune of working with these "top tier" consultant types.

    Anyone who thinks they're smart and effective communicators is an idiot who would probably sign up for Amway and Scientology in the same week.

      Lowest common denominator: it's easier to convince some corporate chump to buy a buzzword-drenched "solution" than to assess a situation in its full complexity. So a McKinsey partner is an effective communicator in a purely marketized sense, where "these words sound good" >>> "these words are true." Fuck consulting.

      Edit: If capitalism's logic is about distorting qualities into quantities, then consultants are the evangelists of capital. McKinsey al paredón! :che-laugh:

      Yeah, anyone who's ever actually worked at the high levels of business/government where consultants are involved knows they're worthless 99% of the time. If you ever want to pay someone five figures to talk in circles and meaningless platitudes for 3 hours, they're your go-to though.
