I'm coming from a marxist background, but am currently exploring anarchism. My understanding is there aren't anarchist parties, so how does one go about meeting other anarchists in their area?

Go to your local park and yell "China good!" into the air

Sometimes I see profiles on tinder with marxist/anarchist/leftist stuff on them but I never match with them :( pain.jpg

Gotta find orgs. If you have a local DSA there is usually a libertarian socialist caucus that can be hit or miss depending on the city.

Food not bombs isn't an anarchist org but is populated by a ton of anarchists so it's a good jumping off point.

Your local SRA will probably have some anarchists in it as well.

Edit: also, having thought about it for a few minutes just find an org you like and kick around for a while. People don't walk around with name tags that say "Hi my ideology is..." On then and to be honest it doesn't come up super often.

General Defense Committee of the IWW

    Food Not Bombs

    Black and Pink abolition

    Anarchist Black Cross

John Brown Gun Club (not Redneck Revolt, they split over a rape and RR took the misogynist side)

    Earth First! Gatherings

Black Rose / Rosa Negra (BRRN)

As well as local orgs and see if theres a coop coffee shop, info shop, or bookstore in your town.

There's also the pipsqueak radical contact list.
