It's about 6 months old, but I thought this essay by William Gillis was pretty good. Also particularly relevant to a lot of the discourse that happens in the lemmyverse.

If the mainstream Left monofocused on bringing down the empire to absurd degrees and simple-mindedly reacted against whatever its dominant narratives were, antifa urged a wider lens in which liberalism and the US empire were just one of our enemies, one that should not entirely eclipse diligently fighting reactionaries with less power or in conflict with the US.

Lol, there it is. Only 3 paragraphs in and I found the liberalism escape hatch that justifies collaboration with the omnicidal fascists, for when actual solidarity with their victims gets too inconvenient.

The US didn’t invent patriarchy, and for all the ways it contributes to it there is every reason to think even that a world system with the PRC as the global hegemon would be even worse in terms of patriarchal policies. Even if the core of our politics was destroying white supremacy, that wouldn’t destroy racism, imperialism, settler-colonialism, genocide, etc., which predate and extend well beyond whiteness or European culture, to say nothing of the US empire.

      Lmao.
