These are the people claiming "the left" controls the media btw, we can't even afford to destroy YouTube yet these chucklefucks can afford millions of dollars on ads to promote their shitty fascist films.

    • Coordinated mass reporting of videos.
    • Coordinated mass blocking of their channels.
    • DMCA reporting of videos can lead to too many strikes, demonetization, and even an account being canceled. Gotta watch out with that as it might start a legal process tho.
    • boycotting products /groups that advertise on their videos.
    • Their house, our choice

Anything that's gonna mess with the algo is gonna require a coordinated effort of a shitload of people. Which is what should also be doing on places like reddit and social media.

boycotting products /groups that advertise on their videos.

and pressure campaigns against those advertisers.

I think targeting the advertisers is the big one. It would work better if MeToo still existed, but the Biden campaign killed that. Maybe MeToo can be resurrected as an offshoot of the abortion rights struggle that will be escalating in the upcoming years. Maybe campaigns can appeal to parents of daughters. "This is what YouTube is telling your daughter's male classmates." "This is what those male classmates are saying. [Some vile quotes]" "YouTube is profiting off of victimizing your children."

So, if you wanna do something like that, I'd say target individual workers at the company you're trying to get to abandon youtube. Because if you just send a letter, or something you're not gonna get anywhere, but so many social media networks allow for targeted advertising that you could probably target everybody that works at Paypal for example, lives near their home office, and liked Kamala Harris's instagram. That would be the way to go.

Youtube is enemy territory, a closed platform run by one of the wealthiest companies in the world with a keen interest in maintaining control over the flow of political conversation. I don't think this is a war that can be won. I think it would be more productive to contribute to Peertube instances instead. Contributing original content, help with reporting and modding, donations to keep servers running, promoting Peertube sites both here and in other forums, that sort of thing.

Youtube is privately owned by the capital class. Why would capitalist owned media companies stop boosting capitalist, right-wing propaganda?

Not voluntarily, but mass action can sometimes force concessions.
