    I was in high school. I remember a kid coming up to me and saying a plane hit the Empire State Building. My response, and I'll never forget was "that's dumb."

      We were all joking about how it would be so much cooler if it were, like, 100 Cessnas. Then the teachers got mad and shouted at us that the draft would come back.

      I was in elementary. My grandma picked me up. for some reason my reaction was "doesn't that kinda thing happen all the time?" movies made it seem really normal lol

        I was out of college and knew that it was big but didn't realize how huge it would become. The OKC bombing was just 6 years earlier, when I was in high school, and we weren't sent home early or offered any counseling or anything. It was just another news story. When 9/11 came around, I didn't realize just how much milk the people in charge saw in it.
