Sigh, this again. Yes these numbers are not surprising if you listened to the critiques of Bernies campaign from the grassroots.

Bernie ran a terrible campaign in 2020, he refused to critique Biden. He repeated "trump bad" and "russia stole the election" making him sound like any other democrat. Finally he went around saying "Joe biden is my good friend".

If you want people to think you will fight for them and give them m4a, gnd etc etc, you have to take on the establishment and show people you are willing to fight. Bernie did none of that, he became Schumers lapdog in the senate, and invited the worst type of DNC grifter consultants into his campaign. Voters noticed.

I really don't know if that's what sunk him. The exit polling thing is enough to make me really question how many of those states he lost. He's one of the most popular politicians in the country.

He's also a tired old socdem, but I do think you'd be in a very different position with him as president.

The mainstream media endlessly concern trolled him about being too far left, and it worked on suburban liberals. Then around december Bernie went on late night show and said that "Yes Joe Biden could beat Trump" and that he was "his good friend".

That destroyed any hope for Bernies campaign. If covid hadn't happened Trump would still be president.

Okay, I really really don't agree lol. The vast majority of the country does not give a shit about Bernie saying that Joe Biden is his friend and could beat Trump. I really can't understand how that could be what sunk him, except for those of us on the old sub.

I'll bite. I think it had a big impact. Not because people said to themselves, Bernie and Joe are friends. No one gives a shit about that. Its more Bernie was the only one with enough media juice and clout to articulate an assault against Hey Fat and push a narrative that framed Rapey McPuddlebrain in a bad light. He didn't do that. Joe literally stumbled into the no. 1 spot and Bernie didn't do shit to stop it.

I still think you're assuming the general population saw the primary the same way we did. I don't think any of them needed or wanted to see an assault on Biden the way we did, because most of them don't hate Biden the way we do. They liked Bernie roughly the same or better but when the media told them he didn't stand a chance and was already losing they ate it up.

The exit polling discrepancies still tell a different Super Tuesday story.
