This is kind of a clickbait headline. They get equal seats on committees because there are an equal number of Ds and Rs in the Senate. It's not Chuck Schumer just deciding McConnell will be running half the Senate or anything. Dems are shit but like there's a floor on this thing.

No,the number of committee seats is pre-set and there will be an equal number of Ds and Rs on each committee because there are an equal number of Ds and Rs in the Senate. Stacking the committees would be equivalent to just nullifying the other party’s seats.
The headline is poorly-worded and clickbaity. Dems are not actually giving any power to the GOP here, it’s a minor clarification of the rules when there’s an equal number of people from each party.

Keep in mind that tied votes go through the committee, so Republicans can't block anything in a committee even if they have equal seats

Part of this power sharing agreement is that tied votes pass. This is what happened in 2001 I think when the Senate was last split.
Bills go through committees with a tied vote. So anything that requires a normal majority can be passed by Democrats. And Schumer decides what gets a vote which was the point of the Georgia thing
