idk what martin scortelini had to say about mcu (even though the great deal of mcu/dc/etc cape media sucks) but he is definitely right that the switch to everything having to be "content" now has had an awful and negative impact on pop culture and also just art in general

Thing is right like cape shit can be good but it's so committee based and lacks creativity and that's a problem. I don't think the genre is inherently bad.
Like I can't really get down with the MCU because it's all about being as homogeneous and each movie bleeding into the other that nothing stands out to me and makes me want to watch. Hell, make it schlock, good schlock is super fun.
Black panther and guardians of the galaxy were decent. Into the spiderverse was good
