I don't really know architecture so well, but you might appreciate what they did with the rebuilding of Coventry cathedral, which pretty incredibly sits side-by-side with the husk left from the bombing in WW2. Their central cross is formed of nails from the old roof - in typical Catholic manner, they've passed these out internationally as a symbol of peace to about 300 other churches. P cool tbh.
